I love non dairy milkshakes!
Easy and fast to make, healthy to take and can be consumed as a snack or a desert.
This time I will share the recipe for vegan strawberry/raspberry/banana ice-cream milkshake!

Lets have a look at ingredients:
Did you know that strawberries are the only fruit that wear their seeds outside? And that it is actually a fruit? :) Strawberries are one of the first fruits to appear in the spring. They are a good source of vitamin C and B9. It also contains good amount of potassium and manganese. Strawberries are rich in antioxidants and can be helpful with blood sugar regulation.

Again, just as strawberries, raspberries contain antioxidants which may prevent a range of health conditions. They also supply with a decent amount of fiber and vitamins. Did you know that they do not ripen after being picked up?

Banana. Banana. Baaaaanaaanaaaa.. Banana is not only a nutritious food/snack but also a prebiotic (yes, prebiotic)! Great, isn't it?

Vegan milk. I repeatedly mention, that its value depends on the non dairy milk you choose. It is (nearly) always a healthier and pain free product.

Maca root powder. It is often referred as a 'superfood'. It's high in vitamin C, potassium, calcium, iron, copper and others. It has high antioxidant content. Although there is limited research done on maca it apparently in known to reduce blood pressure and depression. Maca root powder is marketed as improving sexual desire and increasing men's fertility.

Ingredients:
1/3 cup of frozen strawberries
1/3 cup of frozen raspberries
1 cup of banana
1 1/2 cup of non dairy milk (I used rice and coco this time)
1 tbsp of maca root powder
Preparation:
1) I take frozen strawberries, raspberries and banana and let them de-freeze a bit. It will still be cold but not so hard as if you would just take it straight off the freezer. This will keep your blender longer with you ;)
2) Put non dairy milk, maca root powder and blend it all well. You can always adapt the quantity of milk to achieve the consistency of milkshake you like. If you want it to be thicker, add less milk, if you like it more liquid - put a bit more and see.
